Vision and Mission

With the 73rd and 74th constitutional amendments, the Gram Panchayats have become local governments. Local governments, which carry out the constitutional duties of economic development based on social justice, are also social institutions that fulfill the basic needs of the people. Since the Ninth Five Year Plan, the Five Year Plans in Kerala have been implemented as people's plans. The responsibility of the local bodies is to ensure comprehensive and balanced development by understanding the needs of the people, listening to their grievances and ensuring equal justice for all. The 7th Gram Panchayat has been implementing projects that are conducive to fulfilling these duties for the last 25 years through the People's Planning Plan.

As part of the formulation of the Five Year Plan, we have reviewed the development achievements we have achieved through the last 5 Five Year Plans, studied scientifically about the current development situation, and taken steps to solve the existing development problems. We have started planning and implementing projects in various subject areas through a multi-faceted planning process.

The government has launched a mass development program called the New Kerala Mission to achieve the great goal of creating a New Kerala by protecting the soil, water and biological resources of our country. The New Kerala Mission is a combination of 4 missions: Life Mission, Aardram, Haritha Kerala Mission and Public Education Protection Mission. Ezhom Grama Panchayat aims for a noble development approach that targets all these 4 missions.

Ezhom Grama Panchayat, known as the rice mill of Kannur, is a land of agricultural prosperity. In the project, we are emphasizing on the production sector. In addition, social security, improving the quality of public services, and upliftment of disadvantaged groups such as women, children, the elderly, and the disabled. We are planning all-round projects for the year 2024-25, including projects to protect soil, water, and biological resources. Along with this, disaster management projects that are relevant to contemporary disaster management are also being planned and implemented in accordance with the physical conditions and climate of the Gram Panchayat.
