Vision and Mission

EZHOME GRAMA PANCHAYAT

VISION AND MISSION

With the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments coming into force, Grama Panchayats have evolved into Local Governments. Local Governments, entrusted with the constitutional responsibility of achieving economic development based on social justice, are also social institutions that fulfil the basic needs of the people.

Since the Ninth Five-Year Plan, Five-Year Plans in Kerala have been implemented as people's plans. It is the responsibility of Local Self-Governments to achieve comprehensive and balanced development by identifying the needs of the people, listening to their grievances and ensuring equal justice for all. For the past 25 years, Ezhome Grama Panchayat has been implementing projects through the People's Planning Programme aimed at fulfilling these responsibilities.

As part of the formulation of the Five-Year Plan, we have begun efforts to review the development achievements made through the previous five Five-Year Plans, scientifically assess the present development situation, identify the development issues that still persist, and plan and implement projects across various sectors through a multi-level and comprehensive planning process.

The Government has formulated a people's development programme called Nava Kerala Mission with the noble objective of creating a new Kerala while protecting our land, water and biodiversity. Nava Kerala Mission consists of four missions: LIFE Mission, Ardram, Haritha Keralam Mission and the Public Education Protection Campaign. Ezhome Grama Panchayat also aims to pursue the progressive development approach envisioned by these four missions.

Ezhome Grama Panchayat, known as the rice granary of Kannur, is a land of agricultural prosperity. In our plan, priority is given to the productive sector. Along with this, we are planning comprehensive projects focusing on social security, improving the quality of public services, and the advancement of vulnerable sections including women, children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities, as well as projects for the conservation of soil, water and biodiversity during 2024–25.

At the same time, considering the contemporary relevance of disaster management, the Grama Panchayat is also planning and implementing disaster management projects suited to its physical conditions and climatic characteristics.

VISION

To achieve comprehensive development through transparent, people-friendly and environmentally friendly governance and transform Ezhome Grama Panchayat into a model Grama Panchayat.

MISSION

To improve the quality of life of the people by ensuring basic infrastructure, healthcare, education, sanitation and social security.

QUALITY POLICY

To realise the concept of Local Government in its true spirit through the collective efforts of employees, elected representatives and the public; to ensure quality in all activities of the Panchayat; and to provide timely, transparent and efficient services to the public, thereby becoming a people-friendly Grama Panchayat
